My Reflection

In my maths we have been focusing on connections. I found this task easy because I have learnt all my basic facts already which makes it easy of me. My next step in connections is to try and use bigger number to help my multiplication which then will help my division.

Fractions of a Whole

My reflection

I was learning fractions of a whole. This was easy for me because I have been practising fractions for a long time now. I can now find a fraction of a very big number to a very small number.

The Seven Children

My Reflection

This activity was about using the dictionary to find the inner meaning of the words used the rhyme. There were a lot of different meanings to one word, except we had to chose the best fitting descriptions to fit the rest of the sentence. Most of the words had come from modern English and old English.

Fractions for Maths

My Reflection

I now know how to find a fraction of a number. This was easy because once I understand how to do it I find it very easy to continue. I will use this skill and knowledge in all my other maths.

Balloon Rockets

My Reflection

This activity was my Inquiry focus. We were leaning about forces and motion. I balloon rockets, we contributed on a slideshow about what is happening to the balloon when we let it go.

Poi Rakau

My Reflection

I did an activity where my group and me were told to research Traditional Maori Games and retell the game and type it in your own words. We needed to also write the history of the game. Our Game was called Poi Rakau. Poi Rakau is another way of saying 'Stick Games'. There are two ways of playing this game and both are very fun.

The 'k' Sound

My Reflection

I did this activity where I recognised the difference with the 'k' and the 'c' sound. For instance, the word cook has the 'k' sound in it but starts with a 'c'. 

Book Land in the Faraway Tree

 We drew a picture on a book and made our own land. I also wrote my own story on it.

Matariki Poem

My Reflection

This is my Haiku poem about Matariki. We were set with three numbers, 5,7,5. but these were syllables not words. The poem was about Matariki and after we were finished we put it on a Tagul.

Understanding Te Reo Maori

In this activity we needed to translate the words to make a sentence.I found this a activity exciting for me because it was a challenge.My next step is to translate more complex books.

Stop Motion Video PVP

My Reflection

In this activity we had to cut out pieces of paper and  stick them on the white board with blue tack. We used a app called Stop Motion when you take lots of photos and it automatically makes it a video.I thought This was fun with my partners
